JUST PRACTICING

THE ROAD HOME

MOON OVER THE PINES

SUCCULENTS IN SHOES

The other day I just became fed up with my camera. It was the third one that I had replacing the first two. It was just sucking up batteries left and right and so I went down to my local Best Buy store and purchased this brand new camera. So far, I am having a good time with it but I have to admit that I am just getting around to playing with it, downloading software so that I can upload the photos to my computer, and reading the manual.

I think that I am going to have a great time with it. I just shot these three photos the other night standing on the front porch and so far, they are turning out pretty good. I have lots more settings to play with and learn but that is half the fun, right? Just give me a little free time (please!) and I will be snapping photos left and right.

In case you are wondering what I purchased, I bought a Canon Rebel T3 digital camera that came complete with a great zoom lens (I have not tried it out yet), camera bag, extra battery, and lens filter. I later found out that Melanie uses the exact same camera. I hope that my photos will one day be as wonderful as hers are. She has really been an inspiration to me. Go check out her blog and see some of the great shots she accomplishes. And funny thing is that I didn't even know what kind of camera she has. I just found out later in the evening after I had already made the purchase. Can't wait really get a chance to try it out.

  4. There is nothing like a good camera. My Nikon is in the camera hospital right now and I'm using my old Canon Power Shot A520 which is still a good, old point and shoot but uses batteries and goes through them like it's eating candy. My Nikon has rechargable batteries. I love being able to recharge the batteries... saves me money.
Your photos are lovely, especially the last one of the shoe. That's a pretty one.
Learn all you can about your camera and what it can do and then have fun. Can't wait to see the results.

  6. Good luck with your new camera. Mine is like my right arm sometimes. I have a nikon coolpix with rechargeable batteries. I would hate having to buy batteries all the time!
