The header is inspired by Wayne Thiebaud's painting of the Sacramento Delta. The group that made it had "a slice" challenge which meant that they had to cut it into three pieces and each person created one "slice". Amazing work, especially if you are familiar with Wayne Thiebaud's work. He is quite an extraordinary painter himself. There was another one that was inspired by "River and Farms".
Beautiful quilts. Some people have very nifty fingers. Not me.
ReplyDeleteAs an aside,a friend of mine chose to be Frida Kahlo for Halloween a couple of years ago. The end result was a spitting image of Frida right up to the uni-brow. The funniest part about it was that my friend was a guy :)

ReplyDeleteGloria---I'm not sure this quilt was for sale but you could probably contact the Folsom Quilt and Fiber Guild at their website at: FolsomQuilt.org and ask Paula Beck, the maker, if she would sell or make one for you. You never know. I know so much time goes into things like this.
