MAGPIE TALES

LIFE'S R-RATED

Restricted access.
Is that the way we are meant to be
with each other?
We meet, we kiss,
we (everything else).
Yet
I am denied
what
I
really
DESIRE.

Foggy nights,
sheets on the
floor,
darkness,
SWEET
Kiss.
Stains on linen,
on clothes,
On ME.

I granted you access.
You declined.
I lay there
Rejected.

Leaves my mind reeling from all this magpie lipstick imagery ... from just a simple tube of lipstick -- powerful, indeed.

  9. 'I granted you access. You declined.' Powerful and to the point, and poignantly sad. Superb!

  11. Such a huge story of a relationship condensed into fine poetry. I think we've all been there, though it takes courage to put it on the page.
