Here, you can see my trap at the top of the photo, directly BEHIND the web with TWO spiders poised directly in the middle.
Here's a close-up of the spiders. I don't think they were dangerous. They didn't attack me. They just ran away when I had to gently move part of their web aside to service my trap. We existed in the same space without having to kill each other. Too bad some countries couldn't take a lesson from this. Exist despite our differences. Exist despite our different goals in life. Exist despite what we claim as "our own space". A peaceful existence is possible. There is room for all of us.
I usually let spiders run around inside but last week I found a deadly Redback (huge!) on the brick wall behind our heater in the family room - it got squashed! They can kill. A local man was bitten by a Whitetail years ago and has suffered ever since from this and that because the poison stays in the body. Those nasty little jumping ones can cause grief too.
ReplyDeleteoh there is a nice lesson there indeed...
ReplyDeleteSuddenly I think your job might not be as fun as I thought it would be...those spiders are huge. Glad they didn't jump! You're brave! I think I would have high tailed it out of there!
ReplyDeleteoh, but what if one spider sunk its fangs into you
ReplyDeleteI'm certain you'd win that battle
sometimes it can't be avoided
because we are of the human race
evil exist in this world
and will
all we can do is lead with goodness
...and forgiveness and faith
indeed there is...if only spiders could talk some sense into the countries that need this lesson..great pics and post.
ReplyDeleteI agree with you. A good lesson here for our world.
ReplyDeleteI love spiders. I didn't see the big mamma that usually weaves her web on the patio this summer. I missed her.
ReplyDeleteLovely photos and wise words.
Oh my, I'm so afraid of spiders but I find them fascinating creatures. I'm trying very hard to coexist with them. Your post reminds me of my encounter a couple of weeks ago with a huge spider in a parking lot. I will write a post about it on my blog.
ReplyDeleteThanks for reminding me.....
