LUCKY NUMBER EIGHT

Today is my daughter's anniversary. She got married in our backyard on October 8th five years ago. (I think that is right, isn't it April? I get lost in all the years and how quickly they fly by!)

So, I did a little shopping and dropped off a goody bag at her house for her and J's anniversary. Happy Anniversary!

The rest of my day I spent taking a walk in the park across the street from her house. I walked 3 miles...not too bad for someone just recuperating. These images are what I saw while I meandered around the park, camera in hand. I wish that this park was close to me. I love the sights and sounds at that park. There are children playing, geese chasing each other for the feast of bread that a man has just dropped off on the lawn, black birds chirping in the huge trees (so many of them that you can't see them but you certainly can hear them), dogs chasing frisbies tossed by their owners, children playing on the playground next to the park until the alarm sounds that recess is over, cars zipping by on both sides of the park on their way to who-knows-where. All this activity is fun for me to watch and hear. I live in such a quiet place devoid of people that it captures my attention for quite a long while. It makes me want to sit and soak up the sun for an hour or two. But...alas, I have to drive myself home. Thank goodness I had my trusty camera to help me remember the day.

I've always been very partial to the numbers 8 and 20. :)

  2. It's so nice to see everything so lush and green. Everything here is turning a rusty brown. And even nicer to hear that you were able to enjoy a long walk at such a lovely park. Nice photos. Hope all is going well for you.
