MOSAICS FROM SANTA CRUZ
All of these mosaics were made by Gay's mother. Gay has them hanging outside on protected walls. I'm not sure what year she made these but I think that she did an incredible job. They are really heavy and mounted on wood with a frame all around them. Gay gave me one of them years ago and I still treasure it. It, too, hangs outside on a wall of the house in a protected place. Her Mom made all the clay pieces individually, glazed them, then placed them in position. I really love them; I hope you do too.

oh these are very cool...love the twisted metal in that first one...hope you are having a great weekend!
ReplyDeleteI love these, for some reason they remind me of the 50's and Sausalito and the creativity of that time. My favorite is the orange with the coiled clay.
ReplyDeleteThose are amazing!!! I DO love them too :)
ReplyDeleteOutstanding! The colors so vibrant. The last one is my favorite because I see plants in this one.
ReplyDeleteHope you're enjoying your day today. Once again...Happy Mother's Day.
I will have to ask Gay where her Mom lived at the time. I see a lot of beach and nature influences here. I do think that she lived in the Bay Area and I know that she loved art. She was very creative. Did paintings too.
